All of the classes in first grade did their very first music share! It happened Thursday from 5:30 to 8:00 right before winter break, on December 16th. First grader named Emily told us, “Some of the songs we sang were Little Jack Pumpkin Face and, Bow Wow Wow.” Isabel said, “I liked how all the first graders got together to sing and play instruments.” When we asked what instrument he played, Sam replied,“ I play the xylophone.” Hopefully all the first graders loved the music share and would want to do it again! Way to go, first graders!

2H Fairytale Dioramas

Piece by Lindy H. and Caroline G.

Lately, Mrs. Holt’s class has been working on an exciting project. The assignment was to read and pick a favorite fairytale, then to recreate it inside a shoebox. Students were allowed to use materials such as string, clay, markers, and other materials. Luca C. told us his fairytale was based on The Three Little Pigs. He said the reason he chose this fairytale was because he liked that story and it was funny when the pigs tricked the wolf and he fell into the pot of boiling water. Luca happily said he used Legos, wood sticks, and pictures from the computer to complete his diorama. Luca learned that fairytales stretch the truth. Looks like this second grader had a lot of fun with his diorama project!

Let's Write

By Peyton O.

Last time we collected folders with your work in them, FYI Primary Page was so surprised! There were so many great pictures and crafts. We loved all the submissions, but do you know what we didn’t have a lot of? Articles! We here at FYI love featuring all your great work so the whole school and world and world can see what you have done. Next time, why don’t you write an article about what you just learned in math class? Or submit the story about turtles you just finished. Everyone would love to read it.
